Nadia Zakir
Head of Compliance
Ms. Zakir is a managing director in the Newport Beach office. She is PIMCO LLC's chief compliance officer and PIMCO's global head of compliance. In her previous roles at PIMCO, Ms. Zakir managed the U.S. regulatory legal team and the global trading documentation and counterparty management team. Ms. Zakir previously served as chairwoman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Market Risk Advisory Committee, and currently serves as a board member of The PIMCO Foundation. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2013, she was an associate director at the U.S CFTC in Washington D.C., where she helped lead the implementation of various rule-making initiatives and key provisions of regulatory legislation under The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Ms. Zakir was previously a senior associate at the law firm of Van Ness Feldman in Washington, D.C. She has 20 years of legal and compliance experience and holds a J.D. from The Washington College of Law at American University, a master's degree from the University of Chicago, and an undergraduate degree from the University of San Diego. She is admitted to the bar in the District of Columbia and Maryland and is registered in-house counsel in California.
